5 things you can check yourself before calling us for emergency service
Thermostat

Make sure it’s set to Heat and the temperature is set higher than the room temperature.
Check/replace batteries if it uses them.
Power to the Furnace

Confirm the furnace power switch is on (often looks like a light switch near the unit or at the top of the basement stairs).
Check the circuit breaker or fuse—reset if tripped.
Oil Supply

Check the oil tank gauge to be sure you haven’t run out of oil.
If you did run out, note that the system may need to be bled by a technician after delivery.
Emergency Reset Button

Press the reset button only once.
If the furnace does not start, do not keep pressing it—this can flood the burner.
Recent Changes?

Think about any recent power outages, electrical work at your home, fuel deliveries, or thermostat changes that may explain the issue.
